| General Info |
I have a collection of
family members on disk I call Photo Family. In this collection I place a
copy of every photo that a person appears in inside that persons personal
folder. So if I have a picture of Mary & Mike, the same picture will be in
Mary & also in Mike's folder. This way you can look in a persons folder and
see every single photo I have of him (her).
This is not appropriate for the internet due to size constraints. So here I
have one copy of each photo and put links to that photo from everyone's web
page that appears in the photo. |
Can I copy this CD
or any of the
photos? |
Yes, please do! That's
why we do this, to share. |
| I don't understand? |
These CD's have been
copied many times. I started working on this web in 1998
and have made changes, additions and corrections on a daily basis since.
In some places I may refer to programs or something else that may not be
applicable by the time you see this CD. Contact me with any corrections,
please. |
| I have some photos for you. Where do I send them? |
If they are digital, e-mail them to
me. If you want me to scan them, please send me an e-mail & I'll let you know where to
mail them to.

YOU
WILL GET THEM BACK !!! |
| When I click on your e-mail address to send mail, nothing happens? |
Your e-mail program is probably not configured to work with links.
Highlight our e-mail address and copy it. You may have to right click on the link and
choose properties, then highlight the address after mailto: Manually open your mail
program and paste our address into the send to box. Don't forget to add our address to
your address book. Come back here when you are done! |
| I sent you some photographs, but I don't see them on the web? |
Since creating this web, I've received
thousands of photographs. My whole family has been busy getting them ready
for the web. Also, your web browser might be storing our pages, so use the
REFRESH feature with your web browser. You might want to check your setting
in your browser. If you're using IE go to tools, internet
options, general tab, settings and choose automatically or every visit to the page. You get
more up to date stuff checking it every time, but it's slower. Oh well. |
| I e-mailed you a photo but on the web page it doesn't look as good? |
To decrease your download times, I have to decrease the quality of
photos before I add them to the web. If you would like to have all the pictures (plus
more) you see on our web in their best format, please send one of us an e-mail. |
| My mother is a Stansell. Why are her pictures under the name Diaz? |
We had to standardize. You will find her photos under her married
name. There should be links under Stansell sending you to the Diaz page. Please contact me
with any corrections needed. |
| I love this album, but I really do not want all that info about me
on the web. |
Contact me. We certainly respect ANY concerns you might have.
A couple of people have asked us to remove them from our web
and we understand and comply. |
| The web pages look totally different at my home and my sisters? |
The way the internet works is when you send a request for a web
page, we send your browser enough information to draw that page on your screen. So, each
person sees it differently because of different browsers, screen resolutions,
video cards and preset
preferences in your browser and in your computer.:) |
| I don't like scrolling to view a page. |
No one does. This web is best viewed in 800 X 600 resolution,
or more.
Another thing you can do in Internet Explorer is click "VIEW" at the top and
choose "Full Screen". This will hide your toolbars and task bar. To exit this
mode, click the restore button in the upper right corner. |
| Couldn't you jazz up the pages with moving pictures or something |
Well, we felt the real value is in the photographs and the
simplicity helps keep your download times reasonable. |
| I'm so excited. I want everyone's address & phone number. |
We do not give out addresses or phone numbers. Only those who want
their e-mail address on the web are posted. If you want to contact others, the best thing
to do is have us put your e-mail address on your data
page, and you can e-mail those who
have their email address on their data page. |
| Why have I seen the same picture 3 or 4 times on the web? |
If there were 3 people in the picture,
there will be a link to that photo on each of those
persons home pages. We want you to be able to go to any individuals page and see every photo we
have of that person. |
| Will I get my photos back? |
Absolutely! As a matter of fact, if you can scan them in and just
e-mail me digital photos (.jpg), you will make me one happy fellow. Scan them in best mode
about 8x10. I'll size them & play with the compression. If you can't scan them
yourself, send them to me and I'll scan them and return them. Don't send too many at a
time. We have lots to do. Start with your favorites and make sure it's clear who &
when the photos are of. Thanks! |
| I have some info for you. Where do I send it? |
You can e-mail me info

| If I take a persons
image folder, will I have all the photos in the web of that person |
This is for advanced
persons, familiar with the web structure. And the answer is no.
I have two separate methods of saving photos of family members:
1) Photo Family - A file on my computer containing a folder for each family
member
with sub-folders for each year. These folders will contain a copy of every
photo I have that was taken that year. So, if there were three people in the
photo, there will
be three copies in Photo Family, one in each persons folder. That way, if
you want
to see photos of a person they will all be in his or her folder.
2) On the web I may have put the web page and the corresponding photo in any
of the three persons folder. There will only be a link to the other two.
This is transparent to the casual viewer, but crucial to someone trying to
extract or alter my web for their own purposes. Let me know if I can help.
There may be a few exceptions because I am self taught in web construction
and made some mistakes in the beginning, duplicating pages and images.
You can open each web page listed on their home page and save
the photo yourself. Or email me and I'll mail you a copy of the whole web on
CD. |
